EEPROM Chip Programming

Some EPROM chips, such as W27C512 or W27C512, are 27series, but have no erasing window on the top. They are called eeproms, can be erased electronically. When programming this type of chips, besides the DIP setup and insertion of IC to 32 PIN ZIP socket, both the special chip and special voltage buttons have to be adjusted accordingly.

1. WinBond EEPROM

This enhanced programmer supports: W27E512,W27E010,W27C010,W27C020,W27C040

Operation steps:  1) Set the 12 dipswitch according to the software;

2) Remove the Reset jumper, change the programming voltage to 15V, change the special chip selection from Normal to W27C position;

3) Insert your chip into the 32PIN ZIF socket, click the Erase button, the programming LED will flash and the progress bar is not moving, then press Reset button, the chip will start to get erased.

4) Load your rom file you want to burn, hit program button to program your 27SFxxx (Make sure both Vpp and chip selection LEDs are at the Normal position when you program your chips. The special chip selection LED for W27C is only for erasing mode).

2. SST EEPROM

This programmer supports: 27SF256, 512, 010, 020, 040;37VF512, 010, 020, 040.

Operation steps (Vpp keeps as 12V): 1) Set the 12 dipswitch according to the software, select the chip model W27CXX

2) Remove the Reset jumper, change the programming voltage to 15V, change the special chip selection from Normal to W27C position

3) Insert your W27CXX chip into 32PIN ZIP socket, click the software upper right corner erase button, the programing LED will flash and the progress bar is not moving, then directly press Reset button, the chip starts to get erased.

4) Load your rom file you want to burn, hit program button to program your 27SFxxx (Make sure both Vpp and chip selection LEDs are at the Normal position when you program your chips. The W27C special chip selection LED is only for erasing mode)..

3. MX26C4000 EEPROM

Operation steps (VPP keeps as 12V): 1) Setup the 12 dipswitch according to the software, select the chip model W27CXX

2)Remove the Reset jumper, change the programming voltage to 15V, change the special chip selection from Normal to W27C position

3) Insert your W27CXX chip into 32PIN ZIP socket, click the software upper right corner erase button, the programing LED will flash and the progress bar is not moving, then directly press Reset button, the chip starts to get erased.

4) Check write in, everything is normal
